Vermont Marble Company (VMC) is often described as the largest marble company in the world. This paper presents examples from the original patterns Tait found in the abandoned mill in 2007. Within this collection of ink on linen full-sized patterns notations and various styles of drawing reveal that they are not all from the Company’s art department but show work from the various companies they absorbed during its almost 100 years. This paper will cover the companies that were absorbed by VMC and show some examples from this diverse collection of imagery.
